WORLD HEALTH DAY 2026 – ACTIVITY REPORT
On the occasion of World Health Day 2026, the Department of Community Medicine at The Oxford Medical College, Hospital and Research Centre successfully organized a series of academic, creative, and community-oriented activities under the theme:
“Together for Health, Stand with Science.”
The objective of the event was to promote awareness on holistic health, encourage healthy lifestyle practices, and foster scientific thinking among students and the wider community.
ACTIVITIES CONDUCTED

3-Day Photography with Caption Competition
A three-day photography competition was conducted to capture visual narratives reflecting various health related themes. Participants demonstrated creativity and critical thinking by pairing impactful images with meaningful captions aligned with the theme.

7-Day Health Challenge on Healthy Habits
A week-long health challenge was organized to encourage students and staff to adopt sustainable healthy practices. The challenge included daily focus areas such as balanced diet, regular exercise, adequate sleep, digital detox and adequate physical activity. The initiative aimed to instill long-term behavioral changes.

Short Video/Reel Competition
Participants created short videos and reels to spread awareness on health-related topics using digital platforms. The competition emphasized effective communication of public health messages, scientific accuracy, and community engagement.

Healthy Recipe Competition
This activity promoted the importance of nutrition and healthy eating habits. Participants prepared and presented innovative, nutritious recipes, highlighting locally available ingredients and balanced dietary practices.

Decode the Outbreak (Public Health Activity)
An interactive and educational activity designed to simulate outbreak investigation scenarios. Participants applied epidemiological principles to identify, analyze, and propose control measures for hypothetical disease outbreaks, enhancing their practical understanding of public health response.

Debate Competition
A debate competition was organized to encourage critical thinking and discussion on contemporary public health issues. Participants presented evidence-based arguments, reflecting their understanding of scientific concepts and policy implications.

Pot Painting Competition
This creative activity provided a platform for participants to express health-related themes through art. The painted pots symbolized environmental health, one health, sustainability, and community well-being.

Role Play on One Health
Students performed role plays highlighting the concept of One Health, emphasizing the interconnectedness of human, animal, and environmental health. The activity effectively conveyed the importance of collaborative approaches in preventing and managing public health challenges.
WORLD HEALTH DAY WALKATHON 2025
WORLD HEALTH DAY CELEBRATION APRIL 7TH 2025
On the occasion of World Health Day, The Oxford Medical College Hospital and Research Centre students of 2nd MBBS under the ages of Department of Community Medicine organized a walkathon at Attibele town with the theme “Healthy beginnings Hopeful Future”. The event aimed to raise awareness among the public with the emphasis on Maternal and Child well-being.
The faculty members, PGs, Interns and students with Healthcare workers enthusiastically participated in Walkathon along with Police personnel by carrying placards and spreading key messages on safe Motherhood, Nutrition and Immunization. The walkathon received strong support from the local community and highlighted the Oxford Medical College’s commitment on promoting public health and community care.
