Department of Emergency Medicine was started in the year 2020 in the Oxford Medical College, Hospital and Research Centre. It works all round the clock 24X7 by Emergency medicine Physicians and Casualty Medical Officers. The doctors are supported by the subject specialists as per the requirements of patients at all times. With adequate nursing staff providing best emergency care and management
In 2019 undergraduate course was recognized and in 2021 was given approval to start M.D. EMERGENCY MEDICINE Course in 2019 we successfully faced the PG assessment and now it is a post Graduate department. First PG batch was started in February 2022, opening the gates for further milestones. Permitted to staff 3 seats by MCI.
Emergency Medicine is a Medical specialty concerned with the care and treatment of acutely ill or injured patients who need immediate medical attention.

Rapidly recognizing acute life or limb threatening illnesses or injuries. Demonstrating a systematic, prioritized approach to resuscitation and stabilization of medical, surgical, and traumatic emergencies and to minimize early mortality and complications.

There is a causality of 25 beds. A fully resuscitation ward with 5 beds. EICU of 5 beds are fully equipped. Emergency operation theatre is functioning 24X7 with pre and post operation services for complex cases are available and are constantly being upgraded.

CME PROGRAMMES AND ACTIVITIES:
The faculty of the Department of Emergency Medicine regularly participate in Regional, State, National conferences and Academic meets in emergency medicine by delivering lectures, and presiding over scientific sessions. The department is involved in conducting clinical classes, evaluation of the students by internal assessments and actively participating with other departments in conducting guest lectures, clinic- pathological meetings and integrated teaching programmes.
