The Oxford Medical College, Hospital & Research Centre ushered in the new academic session with a vibrant Orientation and Freshers’ Day on October 27, 2025. The event marked a milestone as the institution opened its doors to the 2025-26 MBBS batch—young minds filled with dreams of service, science, and compassion.

The special ceremony commenced with a soulful invocation followed by the Lighting of the Lamp, symbolizing the dispelling of ignorance through knowledge. Dean and Director Dr. C. R. Jayanthi welcomed the gathering with an inspiring address, urging students to embrace the journey ahead with empathy, integrity, and academic excellence. She highlighted that medicine, beyond being a science, is a vocation of humanity and lifelong learning.

Chief Guest Dr. Vijayalakshmi I. Balekundri, Professor Emeritus and Former HOD of Pediatric Cardiology at SJICR and BMCRI, reminded students of the sanctity of the white coat and the moral strength required to uphold its values. Her reflections on dedication and endurance deeply resonated with parents and students alike.

Chairman Dr. S. N. V. L. Narasimha Raju, in his presidential address, congratulated the new entrants on joining one of Bengaluru’s most esteemed medical institutions. The event concluded with a vote of thanks, followed by an interactive campus tour featuring The Oxford PULSE Skill Lab, now equipped with a new Virtual Reality (VR) Wing featuring six advanced training stations for up to 500 students, setting a new benchmark for hands-on learning. and Central Library-centres of precision learning and technological excellence.
