The department of ophthalmology in the oxford medical college, Hospital & Research centre is functioning since 2012-13 to provide comprehensive eye care to the rural public of Attibele and surrounding villages throughout reach and in reach programme. Patients have expressed their gratitude and support which are the backbone of our future development. In 2019 we successfully faced the PG assessment and now it is a Post Graduate department, opening the gates for further milestones.
Ophthalmology caters OPD services on all the days. Major surgeries are conducted by senior surgeons. Surgeries like cataract surgeries, squint surgeries, oculoplasty(lid correction), pterygium excision, DCR & DCT.
We have indented to get phacomachine to start phaco surgeries. And we also conduct squint clinic, glaucoma clinic, retina clinic & oculoplasty clinic.
We have 2 indirect Ophthalmoscope, listers perimeter, A scan, Auto-refractometer, 3 slit lamps with three mirror genio we would like to buy yag laser & green laser for treatment for diabetic retinopathy. We want to start course for refractionist. We conduct school screening programmes & camps
