History of Department

Pediatrics (also spelled paediatrics or pædiatrics) is the branch of medicine that involves the medical care of infants, children, adolescents, and young adults.  A medical doctor who specializes in this area is known as a pediatrician, or paediatrician. The word pediatrics and its cognates mean "healer of children," derived from two Greek words:  (pais "child") and (iatros "doctor, healer)


Department of pediatrics was established in 2014 in the view of treating children from age 0 to 18 years.
Department has an established opd , pediatric casualty ,pediatric  ward,nicu and picu
Training for under graduates in pediatrics is well planned and executed since 2014
In 2019 we successfully faced the PG assessment and now it is a Post Graduate department started from 2020 and 3 seats was allotted which is NMC
Department is well established with 3 units and specialty clinics like
Hematology clinic and thalasemia clinic
Pediatric cardiology
Pediatric neurology
Pediatric endocrinology
Pediatric nephrology
Pediatric gastroenterology
Pediatric pulmonology
High risk new born
Department also conducts regular health camps in surrounding areas amd school health camps in the nearby area
Department conducts regular cme programmes to enhance knowledge of students and faculty

  • To provide all emergency treatment for the newborn, born prematurely and with jaundice or respiratory difficulty
  • To facilitate the students to effectively learn, practice & take up research activities in the field of pediatrics
  • To plan and provide state of the art infrastructure and innovative learning resources required for quality education and innovations.
  • To strengthen the professional competencies of teaching staff through faculty development, academic collaborations with other institutions & providing support for research activities.
